Well the moon has an atmosphere... but it is a light one due to it's light amount of gravity and the fact that the Earth sucks up any exess atmosphere that the Moon might pick up...
@Wut2say: you couldn't speed it up too fast because you would cause Massive Tsamies(excuse spelling) everytime the tide came in.... which would be more frequent too...
I think that a force-field is required.... And also if the Earth was going to be destroyed by a comet we ought to make a big shuttle that would be propelled by the massive explosion..... We might be able to make it to Sirius 9 ly away.... after a few generations.....

but by then everyone would have died from some unknown disease that was caused by the amounts of radiation in outer space and the lack of sunlight and polution
If you were to juggle a lion, and a house cat, the end result would look something like a tattered chunk of red fabric. The cat would scratch anything within reach, and the lion would just eat you. The lesson to learn? Make sure you eat your spinach.

If the moon DOES get an atmosphere, and air IS added to the moon, then the heat will spread, and it will be pretty much the same temperature on one side as the other...
However, I don't believe any one human has ever set foot on the moon...
Think about it, the evidence is overwhelming...
1) Compitition with Russia- First satalite, Russian. First person in space, Russian. First person on the moon, American? Something doesn't add up here. Plus, the U.S. was trying to win the space race, and so what better way to do it than cheat???
2) The Van Allen Radiation Belt- The Earth is circled by a belt of radiation that would kill any human...
3) The pictures- No crater mark from where space ship hit, the shadows are gray like on Earth, and there are others...

Tsunamis are not caused by tidal action. They are caused by massive force or seismic activity, i.e. a landslide into the ocean, the eruption of an undersea volcano, an earthquake.
That's what killed so many people in Indonesia: a huge tsunami caused by an earthquake out in the ocean.

No, no, tsunamies are a possibility...
If the moon were to one day, for reasons unknown, stop affecting the pull on Earth's water, the water from high tide in (for the sake of simplicity) zone A would rush to that in zone B...
However, the Tsunamies wouldn't get as bad as one might be lead to think. And after these tsunamies are finished, the ocean will never be able to have a high or low tide...
And could someone please explain to me how adding atmosphere to the moon will affect tides anyway? I am a little lost on that matter. Did you just make that up, Jishdefish???

There is a lot of bull getting shot here.
Actually, though the moon would be missing, the sun still has enough to effect the tides on earth, just not in the extremes that the much closer moon can exact. The sun would create mini tides.

That's true, but I was just talking about the tides we are used to right now...
If you want to get REALLY technical, every celestial body has a pull on the Earth's oceans...

There are actually several theories behind the universe contracting/ expanding...
One says that the gravity of the universe willk become so great, that it will eventually collapse on itself, forming a gigantormous black hole. Once this black hole shrinks to its critical point, it will blow up like any other black hole would, but it will start the Big Bang process over. Some say that this has already happened multiple times...
Others believe that the universe IS infinite, but the matter in it isn't. They think that the universe will continue to expand forever. These people probably also believe up is down, right is left, and donkeys are elephants. These people are wrong, and should be corrected. The universe couldn't be infinite, because that would mean that nothing exists in it...
OH NO!!!
Paradox...

The universe is planty infinite. What, you expect to go off into nowhere and hit some invisible wall like you would in some old video game? It won't keep getting bigger, though. No matter how big it gets, gravity will keep slowing it down 'til it stops and goes the otehr way.

No, I don't expect to hit a wall like that found in video games...
I think that a greater being, the one who created the universe, knew that living organisms, Earthly or otherwise, would not be able to reach the "edge" of the universe before it was destroyed, so merely left it nothing. I mean, why create something if it isn't going to be in use???

He didn't make anything there. The One Who Are Three made space. Since space exists, it is infinite. Space begets more space.
Begets is a fun word:
Evil Begets good: If evil exists, good must also exist (SOMETHING exists, which means He exists, which means good exists, because He is good). If evil doesn't exist, so what? But if good does not exist, evil cannot exist (He is good, and if He weren't, nothing would be).
Light begets dark: If light exists (barring the possibility that nothing else at all exists) darkness will, too. Darkness can exist without light, though.
Matter begets vacuum: If there is any matter, it will congeal into a smaller space than it would need and will create vacuum. If there is vacuum, there COULD be matter, but not necesarily.
Heat begets cold: If there is heat (barring the possibility that nothing else at all exists) cold must also. Cold can exists as long as nothing generates heat, though.

How can the universe be infinitly large???
God knows that no one, human or otherwise, will never see the edge of the universe, so why make something that won't be in use???
The number infinity isn't even real. We can't even imagine it, it is so large. Take the largest number you can think of, and square it. With this new number, you won't even be an infinitieth of the way to infinity. Take an infinite amount of zeros, and put a one in front of it. This number will have an infinite amount of digits, with a value even larger. And since the number was infinity, it is impossible to get anything bigger. So therefore, infinity can't possibly exist...

Yes it can. Not only is your logic circular, it doesn't even make LOGICAL sense...
My logic is thus:
Space begets space. If there is any space at all, there is an infinite amount of it. You can't get to the end of space because there is no end to it. You can't fill it because there's an unlimited amount of it.
Space isn't 'not in use'. He made space. Space is infinite. If any of space is 'in use', it's all 'in use'. There can be no less than an infinite amount of space, because if there were, there would be something else there, and if there's somthing there, there's space there. There can't be an end to space, because if there were, there'd be more space...
To sum it up again: Space begets space.
