And so he died.

-No. I don't want to die anymore today, I've had quite enough of it. Disregard the fist snetence of this post: She did not die, but instead simply stated:

Hmmph. Spoiling my fun. Jish, you are blind if you cannot see that there were influences to Inheritance from other literature. For the first and most undeniable example, I give four letters only: Pern. And a period. I give it a period too. Even so, it's fair impossible to make anything up without it being influenced all over, so...

I like the Inheritance Trilogy, so far, and will probably see the movie and at least play a demo of the game. I probably won't buy the game though, unless it's just off the book, not the movie. I hate movie games.

I didn't see anything from Anne McCaffrey except the dragon riding, and that's not copyrighted to her.

I didn't say anything about copyrights, just influence. I said that 'Pern' was a notable influence on the Inheritance trilogy.

That's what I said, if you were paying attention:

Now that's not fair. You can't just edit your post or no one will know what I was correcting you about...

Hey, I love Eragon and Eldest. True, parts of it are inspired by existing fantasy stories, but Christopher Paolini used his imagination and made the novels his own. Every writer gets his or her inspiration from somewhere.

I can't wait for the movie and video game, I want both!

i agree with seraphina, i read tons of fantasy and sci fi and a lot of them have some type of connections. humans mind s may be different, but they are only different so far.
If you were to juggle a lion, and a house cat, the end result would look something like a tattered chunk of red fabric. The cat would scratch anything within reach, and the lion would just eat you. The lesson to learn? Make sure you eat your spinach.
