I'd like to report a bug: If you don't mind. It seems when you use <and> as brakets all the words except for one are removed..... I know I am being kind of picky but I like to use <these> and am a little bothered by that.... sorry :(

<something> denote instruction for html. If you need to post something between brackets, you can use [something] or alternatively put a check into the "Disable HTML in this post" checkbox on the posting screen.

<This is a test with html disabled>

You can also change your profile to never allow html in post by default. I haven't tested it but it should be equivalent of putting a check aside "Disable HTML in this post" checkbox.
