Myth crashes in to reality?

Post by zlano »

I know of two documented dragon legends that appear to reach out from myth in to our real world.

-.^ Ok. First off, hello zlano

Okie doke: my opinion is that most legends are based on truth..abet a pinch of it. Or such legends are used to explain what people didn't understand.

The Thunderbird interests me most as it comes from Native Indian spirituality...even if i know why lightening happens, i can still dream

On the first one. Knights were big braggers. And the way to look great in the eyes of people and god is to destroy "evil". And dragons at that time and place were "evil". The same idea of St. George and his slaying of a dragon.

The thunderbird is a good one, and one of the better ideas on how a large creature can get off the ground as well as they can. I still think of it as the same idea of calling thunder the sound of "angels bowling".

Just remember people from the past were very smart and could come up with a very good idea on how thing worked and why. My favorite is the earth being the center of the universe expansion. It really works and even call forth the existence of a greater power behind it.

I think if you look long enough you will find that 99% of all legends are based on stories, and that those stories are based on real events or things. Its just that they have been lost so far back in time that records of the original stories have deteriated or been destroied one way or another.
Do not Meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
