Eragon
Has any one seen the new eragon movie?
Looks really cool, I'm looking forward to reading the book.
Oh the video game looks pretty cool but the graphics look kinda lame!

I'm probably gonna HATE the movie. They have messed up way to much, here are some major and minascule things that have been messed up:
-Urgls are supposed to be 12 foot tall giants with gray skin and horns comming out of there temples. In the Movie, they are played by 8 foot tall men, with tribal markings across thier face.
-Zarrock (Eragons Sword) Is supposed to have a rubby on the top area of the hilt.
-Broom is supposed to have a long silver beard, not a stubby beard.
-The "Silver Palm" is a marking that is on every dragon rideres palm. It is supossed to be a silver ovla in the center of the plam, not a "e" shaped scare near the lower part of the thumb.
-Galbatorix is not to be even seen, yet in the movie, he is shown alot.
-Durza (The Shade) Is only supposed to have sword to sword combat against Eragon, wearing black armour. In the movie, he has an air combat fight, and Durza is wearing robes.
I'll probably have more complaints once the movie comes out.

WHAT?!! her hair's not black????? (im not even being sarcastic here, I have red hair but my inner alter ego has black hair) Black is a mysterious color, symbolic of things hidden. No offense to brunettes and blondes (and redheads for that matter), but black is such an elf color im not even kidding!

A: The pics you saw could have been the northern Barbarians, not the Urgals...Makadona wrote:I'm probably gonna HATE the movie. They have messed up way to much, here are some major and minascule things that have been messed up:

B: Well, little details like that ruby make movies look bad. Who cares if it has a ruby? It still cuts, Don't it?
C: They changed Brom's age, and therefore his look, because they didn't want their actor dying before they could finish the series, like the dumbledore from Harry Potter.
D: Agree
E: Just talking about a bad guy isn't enough in a movie, other than in a book, where all there is is speech by both the narrorator and the characters.
F: This was a bit of symbolism on Fox's part, generalizing him as a 'mage' in robes.
It shouldn't really be THAT bad. If you interpret it correctly.

If you were to juggle a lion, and a house cat, the end result would look something like a tattered chunk of red fabric. The cat would scratch anything within reach, and the lion would just eat you. The lesson to learn? Make sure you eat your spinach.

DO NOT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW A MAJOR PART!
Um, Broom dies in the first book, so they would not have to worry (not trying to be rude) if the actor dies. It said that they were Urgls in the image. I wish I could say the name of a website that could explain a whole bunch of stuff =(

I just saw the movie , i came home just a few minutes ago. It was realy good, but i havn't read the book yet so i can't realy pick on details that were wrong. (Expecting a movie to be just like the book can often make the movie seem alot worse, movies often change some details from the book)
The baby Saphira was realy cute , i wish i had one of those

Oh, yeah, forgot about that... Well I guess old Brom could do an Obi Wan type thing, and come back as a ghost, or maybe some more flashbacks to his previous history. And also, I was thinking it would cost quite a bit to make Urgals, I mean the only plausable way of making them is computer-generation... So maybe they were planning to add them in, I dunno, I'll have to see it... Too bad all the theaters around here think 'Charolet's Web' is better...

On one hand, I want to see it because it's a dragon movie and I've read the book already. On the other hand, I’m not sure I liked the book and I'm getting tired of hearing about dragons with a ‘dragon rider’.
I'll probably end up seeing it anyway.

Well everything "wrong" about the movie can be said about every movie made about a book. I for one would have watched the five LOTR movies each being five hours long to cover every point of the books. And the many add on movies to cover other books. And of what my sister says they have cut up the Harry Potter books a lot as well. And a number of other book to movies I have read-watched did the same. Just keep in mind one thing. They at least made the movie(s) which is a lot more than any of us have done.
As for the game, any game made about a movie sucks. You are being thrown into a leaner game in which you know what will happen. I find no fun in that.
But what I have seen of the movie, I think I may watch it. I'll just wait for the "hype" wears off, and see what it is like. But I may wait for it to hit the $1 movies and not pay $7.50 to see it.
I will save my time and money for The Simpsons Movie.

ok i've seen the movie now. it was good animation wise and everything, but i really missed what they cut out of the book. they cut out so much to keep it PG when they should have just let it get PG-13. it would have made it better.

I cant bring myself to watch movies based on books as they always manage to screw it up. Not to mention the battle scenes probably have no blood and unless i see a battle where urgals are spearing dwarves and humans on their horns and maybe some crazy witch lady (angela) spinning her swordy staff thinger and decapitating urgals while a dwarf guts an Urgal with his axe i wont watch it either. Crummy directors and their ratings. Besides i read so many books i sort of just look at the words and watch everything that happens in my head. Being an excellent reader is good and all but i pump through books too fast.

I can't believe I wasted my time watching it. Isider Mithrim the star jewel isn't seen, In the book Murtagh is with them when Brom dies, Arya isn't, and when they find Arya she is in a coma. Dras~Leona isn't even mentioned in the film. Solembum seems to have vanished and so have the twins. The Raz-zak pour Sethre oil on Eragons uncle and Roran becomes a miller, not a soldier. They didn't try to sell the egg and Arya was locked up in Eragons dream in the book. And its true about the Urguls. They can't do Eldest because they have twisted the ending so much.
Formerly DragonRider. Almost teenage me could have been more imaginative with names.

i dont know how they will easily do a movie on the second book unless they do some major intros.
you havent met Sloan's daughter
SLoan isnt evil
The twins werent there
the daughter of the leader of the Varden isnt really introduced
there's hardly any magic shown
Roran is a soldier not a miller (as stated by DR)
there's no werecat with angela
Brom doesnt teach Eragon to read, or fight
YOu dont meet Brom's friend
and a lot of other stuff that is in the first book that is carried over into the second book but not in the movie
they will also have a lot of trouble if they try to keep it PG:
More people get killed
There is a humongous battle
Roran sleeps with Katrina (i'm bad at names and lent my book out, bear with me and please correct me if i'm wrong)
Eragon goes around and heals the wounded and walks over bloody people
i wish the directors best of luck and some better sense than what was had in the making of the first movie
