I believe that yes there is a planned out path that can be predicted and understood once you know how, but I also believe that you can only do so for so far ahead as there is free will and there are points in the future where it is left up to us, those alive now, to make a choice and from point of that choice the future will go off in new direction based upon that choice. FOr example some one pointing gun at some one else the have 2 choices a) shoot guy and just he goes on, or b) put gun up and both go on with life... may be not best example but shows my point.

But if you knew everything about the person who had the gun, then it could have been possible to know what he would do. If you knew that he was a nice guy and that he would never kill anyone then you would know that he would not shoot the other guy.
But we are pretty far away from understanding how the brain works, so beeing able to predict completely how it will work is something we won't be able to do for a very long time.

if he was a nice person, it would be against his frame of mind and shooting someone would either, cause him to break down, or else go insane and shoot more people.....
If you were to juggle a lion, and a house cat, the end result would look something like a tattered chunk of red fabric. The cat would scratch anything within reach, and the lion would just eat you. The lesson to learn? Make sure you eat your spinach.

we're getting off topic......i posted.......back onto the topic.
personally i believe in free will, to a point.
i'm christian, so i believe in God, by my own free will. If we didnt have free will then we wouldnt be able to choose if we believed in God or not, we either would or woudnt.
even if our parents forced us to go to church, or never took us there to begin with, we could still go or not go, when we got older.

yes, there may be some things that we cant choose, the things the government has implanted into our head at birth, but for the most part we choose our lives.
