cell phone friendly
OK quite simple, since some of us do not get 24/7 access to the computer I think making a cell phone friendly version of this site would be a good idea. Thiss would allow more people regular access to this site. Tempest will you at the very least consider this, PLEASE.

Isn't that like a major pain in the arse to code?

Re: cell phone friendly
It's certainly possible... but since I don't have a cellphone, I don't really know first-hand what are the issues involved here... and I obviously can't test the results. From what I know, a cellphone/mobile version of a webpage is a text-only page with no image and no or very little formating a bit like http://m.facebook.com/ vs http://www.facebook.com/.
However, it would involve a lot of maintenance (and work) and I'm not sure that all the parts of the website can be cellphone friendly (ex: the "Dragons of the Analog and Digital World" section, the Message Board and a large part of the Artistic Section are heavily formated).

Re: cell phone friendly
OK well I used my phone to see just what was possible since all I knew was that you could not sign in. The main thing that is a problem is the fact that it is impossible with the board set up to type at all so a simplifying of the typing area should make thing more cell phone friendly

Maybe a sort of 'fast reply' box, like they have on other forums? Almost zero phpBB formatting, although if you type in the codes yourself (i.e. typing ) it still works.
Code: Select all

Fast Reply would be good anyway, even for those of us on a computer.

Re: cell phone friendly
True the only other problem after the fast reply box would be the lack of signing in so everyone on a phone would just have to have the username as P-dragonmaster or something like that since it would tell everyone that ou are on a phone. Oh and the needing to sign in to role play would have to be worked around
