Book Writers ( Us that is )

Post by Chalgrish »

Most of you know I'm an author. Not published yet, but.....shut up (dang, some of you are rubbing off on me!). Anyway, I want to know, are some of you writing books? I'm merely curious, because some of you are great writers, but everyone has a "raw" day*. As shown by Serenity's Book thread, many of you read high-quality books.

I like to write, but I don't think anything I write will ever be published, or posted on here. I'm not very good...

I'm currently working on plans for a book and its sequel, using three of my favorites of my characters (who I haven't used up here as of yet) by the names of Raven, Oran, and Ciarda.

For those of you who've known me up here for a while, those ames should nring a bell. For those of you who are a little newer, long story short they're people with feathered wings, bonded to the land around almost in a druidistic or Native American fashion, two of whom are warriors (Raven and Ciarda) and one of whom is a priest (Oran).

Anywho. The book has to do with a revolt within their clan in which the old leader or "Laird" is overthrown (who coincidentally is Raven and Oran's father).

But yeah. Should be pretty nifty once I finish with it.

I have 15 manuscripts in my personal safe(I have a 4 year old with an infatuation with ripping things), all of which are essentially going to be condensed into a story line. I have an english major, and I have tips for you all!

-If you can't decide on a name, use a filler name, like Kat(make sure that you ONLY can use it as a name, and not a regular word) most programs allow you to take a word and replace it with another.
-THINK before you write. Take very general notes on your chars, and specify as you go along.

Dragy, you have my permission to mention Eron if you so wish. as he was raised by the clan after Worans destruction.

hey it could spawn other books, I have ideas to write up Travis's tale as well as Erons. they are my most studied characters. but alas they never come to be unless I get down and just write the damn thing. I never seem to find the inspiration to write them up.

Write a book that you want to read. Read books by famed authors. And get married as soon as possible. My wife pushes me to write 5 pages a day.

In the words of Mark Twain.

Persons trying to find a motive in this story will be prosocuted. Persons trying to find a moral in this story will be banished. Persons trying to find a plot in this story will be shot.

Where is that? Id like to see it. Robin Hobb and Raymon E. Fiest rock! (God I hope thats how you spell his name! As you can tell, my bad spelling and grammer stops we from writing good books. )

Yeah,I've been working on writting a book ever since I was twelve. I've rewriten it sevral times because I am always finding things that don't go right with the story or can be made better or changed. It's all in a jumble and the pages are all mixed up,but it's coming along. Besides,I've actuly took a break from writting it to organize it better. Either way you've got to agree that writting a book is no easy task but it's definatly worth the work and pationts it takes to do.

My friend Oliver is writing a book about Jedi that he's been working on for a while, and he's almost done with it.
