Alexa analyzis

Post by Sivert3 »

According to Alexa this site is #944,533 in the world traffic rank. But more interesting is their bold clam that:
We estimate that 83% of visitors to this site come from Norway
Considering the fact that this site wasn't even ranked before I started visiting here, I very much doubt that.

Instead, it's probable that I'm the only one her with the Alexa search bar installed.

Wait, what?
I'm not even sure is this spam or not...

What is this Alexa you speak of?

Oops, forgot to mention. Alexa is a company that primarily collects information about internet traffic. They rank sites based on how much traffic they have. Some of their information comes from their toolbar. And they are known for having poor data.

If they only measure sites visited by people with their programs installed, then I'm not surprised their data's poor - if it's not, we have a lot of unknown spammers from Norway, or a lot of liars (there was a poll, showing the majority of people as either British or American, with a few Canadians, then a smattering of others).
