EDIT: OKay, so you can't do that in the general forum, but I know that you can in others. Look at the lower right of a page tells you what you can and can't do in the forum.

The current phpBB forum configuration is as follow:
View: All
Read: All
Post: Reg
Reply: All
Edit: Reg
Delete: Mod
Sticky: Mod
Announce: Mod
Vote: Reg
Poll creation: Reg
Originally everyone could delete their post, but this option has been remove since it was a potential source of problem. For example, if someone flames another user, s/he could then delete all evidence that post was made after they receive a reply and making the person who replied look like if s/he is talking to him/herself. Really, it was an option that could cause problem.
The Forum Permissions Control will vary from forum to forum but if I allow the users of the board to delete their own post, expect it to be only available in the General forum since this forum will be more permissive than the others.
