56: It is an extremely old, extremely popular story shared by the beings on my home star system, as well as the colonies they have made here on Earth. In fact I live right next to where Arcanna (that was the stone whale's name) was destroyed. All that is left are its ribs, (they too, are stone) with starnge runic writings on them. If you want, I could post the story on here.

All you have to do is ask...
I stayed in New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt, a new Cadillac, and a plasma screen T.V....

Well, gather 'round my children...

I guess it kinda needs a prelude...

Ok, the star system I come from is a trinary system, with 13 planets, four of which belong to the Seplians, and nine of which belong to us dragons...

Ok, well these Seplians have always been warring with us for dominance over the star system or space ship space, or whatever, it's always something, so we have always been at conflict (that is, until about a year ago when Seplia 4 seceded to us. It will take them 100 years of observation [cameras all over their planet] to fully join our empire, but they agreed to all of our conditions).

Well, back in the day, they were just as smart as they are today, and way more greedy, and they created a being of stone (resembled a whale), known as Arcanna. Arcanna's one purpose was to travel the universe in a set path to collect gold for them from as many planets as it could find, and destroy the planet afterward.

Now, destroying a planet is a lot of work, even for a huge whale made of stone, and the Seplians knew that, so they created Arcanna with the ability we know today as dry and demolish. Arcanna was out-fitted with a gem capable of sucking in large amounts of energy, and releasing it as a channeled blast. Basically it went to a planet, sucked all the life energy, retained it, and let it go as a concentrated blast on the next planet after collecting the gold.

Well after they created it, it destroyed the planet it was on ( Seplia 5) and one of our planets (Rasekter). Luckily, it was only meant to go in a straight line, and missed the rest of our planets.

Well, Arcanna traveled the universe, fulfilling it's grim purpose for about 825 Earth years, and it had met weaponary resistance of all kinds, until it eventually reached Earth.

The humans were completely devoid of this, probably thinking it was an eclipse or something, but we knew, we knew...

Families said their last goodbyes to each other as Arcanna sucked the life energy from the planet, making everyone feel weaker and weaker and a quickening rate, when all of a sudden, it stopped...

Most thought they had died, and were in the afterlife, but when they looked outside, the residents from this area saw a small boy no older than 8 or nine, standing there bravely, seemingly not affected by Arcanna's abilities to obsorb all energy on the planet.

As minutes ticked by, strange things started to happen to both Arcanna and this mystery kid. At first, a faint bolt of lightning connected the boy with Arcanna's gem, then it started to get brighter.

By the time it grew to a glow about as bright as our lightning, everyone saw something that hadn't been seen by anyone else on any of the other doomed planets, Arcanna lowered it's altitude. As it got to almost ground level (around 300 feet), the light was at such intensity that no one could look at it, and even people near-by felt the heat of the light, and yet, there was this young boy standing in the midst of it.

Then, all of a sudden, it stopped. When the citizens felt the heat disappear, they looked and saw the boy standing there, watching a dead Arcanna fall to Earth. He had destroyed the gem that Arcanna had used for its destruction. As Arcanna fell, the mystery kid layed down a pendant he was wearing with the crest of a poor farm family, and just disappeared. When the poor farm family was questioned, they denied everything in a very unconvincing way. The pendant showed no signs of magical or technological properties, just some metal with a crest...

When Arcanna finally hit, it left such a large crater that it later filled with water, forming a lake, where the top portion of it's ribs are still sticking out of the water and reaching into the clouds.

The technology behind Arcanna has been attempted to be duplicated, but each time with failed results. In fact, there is a university (Woonvoonderbla University) below the lake where Arcanna is studied, along with pre and post Arcannaic time periods.

And so, my children, I leave you with that tale to add some interest to your lives.
