Posting pictures on the forums
How do I do it?! I've been working on some screenshots I took from a game, tapering them down, and such, and now I have a few that I want to show. how do I put pictures from my comp on the forum, specifically in the message, like what I'm typing now.

It’s a relatively easy thing to do once you get the hang of it, just remember that putting pictures up is not a privilege to be abused. People here aren’t fond of large, slow loading pictures. (We have to be considerate for those still running on Dial-up!) So only post pictures in your own threads, or when you absolutely need them in other people’s threads and keep them relatively small.
The first thing you should do is to find a place to upload your pictures from your computer to the Internet. (Think of uploading as downloading, but backwards.) I suggest Photobucket, as it’s free. You can register a free account there by clicking >here.<
Afterwards, when you have a url for your picture, paste it into your post and put the BBC picture code on it (without the *):
[img*]http://www.nowhere.com/images/myimage.gif[/img*]
It should come up okay if you did everything correctly, though you might consider hitting the “preview†button and checking before you post.
This same method of uploading pictures is also what you do for avatars. If you have any troubles along the way, just ask!

Looks good! Just make sure you aren't linking to other people's websites; it's considered bandwith theft. If I were you I'd just go and sign up at photobucket.
I have lived here before the days of ice,
And of course this is why I am so concerned,
And I come back to find the stars misplaced,
And the smell of a world that has been burned...

that IS my website.I used the alias Malchios until a year ago, when my friend got a computer of his own. I gave him my alias to use, because he isn't good at thinking up names. I still own the alias on my blog, however.
and that pic is taken from my personal screenshot bank and altered by yours truly. I think I did well. she had a cape on, and there was all sorts of shadows.

Oh, and see if you can get Photoshop and make the background transparent. Or, if you can't I could do it for you when I have access back to my computer. I think Tempest has it also, but I don't like volunteering other folks, with out their written consent, or a forged document.
