I asked Tempest about having one, next thing I knew, it was up. But it's been replaced once.

Unfortunately there's nothing on the site
I wish they had more info on the members and or tempest himself. (yeah, I did a search for tempest thinking he'd have a page but he didn't) Even the page on dragons didn't have anything on it!

The deal is "we" are the ones who will have to make it....... Or did you not know that about WIKI.

To be honest I was toying with the idea for some times, not the wiki idea, but something that could allow easy modification of the website by the visitors (for example to correct the spelling, add or remove stuff easily). The wiki thing was fitting nicely, however, the configuration is a pain: every single option is hard coded (i.e. there is no gui).

If you search for "website" you will have the major sections of the website editable and 'discutable'. So basically, you can indirectly edit the site. Clicking "random page" will also show cycle you though the wiki but the whole thing is rather new, so there are few articles available (I will probably make an index of all the page available).

Also, I do have a personal sketchbook and the Messages section sometime sounds more like a blog than anything else but I have no official page at this moment.

I've pasted the code for making templates in the Templates section.

It's a sort of web page that uses simple coding so anyone can edit it, add, and remove stuff.

Oh, but wouldn't you want the exact opposite? you know so someone can't just pop in and mess it all up?

The idea is people are trusted not to. But when it's on the internet...

Tempest, can you set it so only members can edit stuff?

@Pandora: The way a wiki is designed is that even if anyone can change/add/remove material from a page, the system keeps a complete history of all the previous versions of that page. So if someone vandalizes a page, anyone can revert it to the previous version by a single click.

@DragonRider: I have changed the permissions, now only registered user can change and create new pages.

Ahh, got it. I feel really dumb now.

I'm thinking about setting up a thread in the Admins and Mods Forum to get in touch with anyone else working on the wiki.

I'm working on it (felt like I was the only doing it). Good to see someone else is helping. I'll get a link to the Pern wiki in the Dragonriders of Pern arcticle.
