Spamfest

Post by Falconer »

The General forum is under assault by waves of Russian spammers. We're trying to hold them off, but are failing. Please, Tempest, help us in our hour of need!

I have deleted the problematic topics and I have done a slight modification to guests permissions.

I will keep an eye on the forum to see if this solve the problem.

Perhaps having a moderator (or three) for the general sections would help.

A good idea. Best bet would be two users who post at least once a week. Pandora comes to mind.

Or a group of them. A moderator group would enbsure there is always a moderator on hand. Just give regulars (read: not strictly regular, just people who have been on it for the past few years) powers.

Of course, it probably doesn't look good, the fact that I couldn't be bothered to login.

So, what about the idea?

The answer *looks at green name* is an super mod. I pop in at least once a day, so with hope I can keep these things from starting up again.

So now I can use Red mod speak.

Red Mod Speak. On another board I go to the mods and admins use red lettering to inforce things.

Yea, he just changed it a couple of days ago. I like this color better though.
