The Final Dragon
And the dragon cries as he soars through the night.
Remembering the time when his world was right.
When he had no fears and worries were none.
When millions of dragons flew from the sun,
to enjoy the world that they lived on.
He searched through the masses for the one he would find,
to share true love for the rest of time.
Then the oldest of the dragons slowly began to die
and no more from the sun did they fly.
In a dying race he knew he must find,
his one true mate before he to dies.
When by luck a dragon did appear,
far more beautiful than any that ever lived here.
From that moment on his heart was sold
and he felt more love than could ever be told.
From the first time they met they knew it was right
and their love filled the world with a light so bright.
Their love grew stronger with every single day
and they found that their emotions could finally play.
Their lives filled with joy, happy times they did see,
he knew that this was the best it could be.
And one day he woke and nowhere could he find
the one he would love for the rest of time.
So he took to the air and searched through the night,
only to find she was gone with the blink of an eye.
So he built her a temple, a beautiful shrine
to house their love for the rest of time.
And he still waits and cries every night
when he flies to the temple in a dazed flight.
It's a place filled with memories for lovers who depart
even though they love each other still in their heart.
And the dragon flies in the night again.
He flies to the place where memories spin.
And as he flies I follow his flight,
knowing he'll take me there tonight.
To the ancient halls filled with love so bright
that I see your face in the beautiful light.
And in this light I see times gone by,
times of wonder, just you and I,
times spent laughing and fooling around,
times spent making love without a sound,
times spent holding you as you wiped away my tears,
taking away all of my fears.
Now begins the dawn of a new day
and the dragon, he can no longer stay.
And my tears flow as he takes me away,
away from this place where my emotions play.
Back to the house of such a lonely face
as I go through the motions of another day.
Thinking only of the night when he takes me away,
to the place my love will forever stay,
Waiting.
