Today was my 21st birthday.
I did not do as most would, though... No alcohol.
Just went around town with friends.
And I joined this site 5-6 years ago. Glad to have friends even here.

That not too strange. I didn't go out drinking on my 21st. Really glad you had a nice time. Though I can't remember what I did anymore. So long ago now.

I'm genuinely confused as to whether that was meant to be a positive or negative comment?

It wasn't ment to be negative. 21 is just a number. I remember when I was 21, I didn't go drinking, I was invited too but it never interested me. I have drank occasionally since I was 17 and with my parents knowledge. I wasn't stupid about it, I didn't go out or anything like that and I have never drunk in excess. I've never passed out, never thrown up and i've never had a hang over. I drink the same way now at 27 that I did at 17. I might drink 1-2 times a month and hardly ever more then a buzz. Thats all I ment, 21 is just a number, you shouldn't let it change the way you think or act.

I'm probably not going to go out into town on my 18th birthday, and I'm certainly not going to drink alcohol (straight edge, see). I may, or may not, celebrate the government lifting a few more of the restrictions that it shouldn't place on my life anyway...

Yall still use "straight edge"? I would have thought that term would be out used by now. I don't feel quite as old now.

Yeah, "straight edge" is still used, but it's fading out.
And, no offense, but you are the oldest person here. (What was it, again? 40 something?). And I myself feel old when someone younger says they don't know what Thunder Cats, Voltron, ReBoot, or Pirates of Dark Water are.

They're all old cartoons. ReBoot is the first cartoon done cg (nothing hand drawn at all).
I may be more attached to them more because they were a big part of my childhood.

Ya I remember most of those cartoons and I know what you mean when you mention one of them and everyone younger than you doesn't have a clue.... One of my favorite shows as a child was Thunder Cats.... Good times.
