Pain's Reason

My poem writing mood usually involves less than stellar emotions, and this is what came of those most recently.

For who are we without others
none, for they define us
each one is special;
adding to who we are
without them we lose us
victims who won’t go as far
we want others near us
which is why pain doesn’t mean a scar
