What he felt first was his head, his temple throbbing at each heartbeat. He opened his eyes. Seeing nothing he sat there, staring off into space. Realization struck him and he remembered what had happened. Ryath immediately tried to sit up, but was rewarded with a sharp pain that shot up his leg, almost making him pass out again. He felt his head for injuries; other than a nasty knot just above his forehead and a large gash on the side, it was fine. He then went to his leg, feeling along it till he felt the shock again--yup from what he knew it was probably a fracture. Using what he learned from his healing classes--the ones he didn't sleep through--he ripped off some cloth from his shirt and tied it around the wound on his head. Then reached to see if his leg was bleeding. His hand touched something warm. He pulled it back, startled. Then felt for it again. After a few seconds the item registered as the Dragon Scale from yesterday. For anouther second he felt like chucking it, but thought better of it and put the accursed thing in his pocket. Unable to do much else with his leg in this condition, he laid back waiting for his fatigue to kick in...

Ah yes, but see, the ruts are like good meals: They'll dissappear faster the longer you sit at table!

yeah but if u sit at the table too long then u may get sick and barf it all up and ruin the good meal.......................if u take a break now and then the meal will still be there and it will still be good

Wut, we're talking about writers block, thus 'rut'. You don't want that to last any longer than it needs to.

Usually when I reach a 'writer's block' I just read a good dragon book and I am rejuvinated once again!!

Ah...try reading the Black Gryphon series. No dragons, but the next best thing, and there's really intense plotwork, good for tired brain boxes.

Mercedes Lackey. You can usually find her books in the big stores, like Barnes and Nobles or Borders.

I hate renting books from the library. It makes me feel rushed to finish it.
