I would like to review the outcome of the nomination before such topic are closed.

While this can be a debate amongst constitutional experts, I only required a supermajority and not an absolute supermajority.

The absolute majority rule requires a majority of all members (officially, it would be all 175 registered members of the board, but for an obvious reason, I only count users who bother to cast their ballot), and an absolute supermajority rule requires a defined supermajority of all members (in this case two-thirds). This contrasts with simple voting rules. Particularly important here is that absolute voting rules in effect count abstention as a negative vote, whereas simple voting rules ignore abstention entirely. This effect permits strategic ambiguity on the part of voters, who are empowered to contribute to a measure’s defeat without openly opposing it.

However, the vote is secret and no one is seeking re-election next November so there is no need to for the people here to be ambiguous and abstain from saying what they really think. Moreover, since I openly encourage people to abstain if they are unsure about a candidate, it wouldn't be fair to count abstentions as negative votes. I didn't elaborate on these details before because I didn't expect scenarios like this (i.e. large quantity of abstentions).

However, to prevent scenarios like 16 abstentions and 1 yah, I use an additional criteria to the supermajority requirement: an absolute majority of yah votes.

Therefore for the two criterions:
Does the person have a (simple) supermajority of Yah vs Nah vote?
9/12 = 75% Yes
Does the person have enough support (i.e. an absolute majority of Yah votes (9/17 =52%))?
9/17 = 52.9% Yes

So, unless the candidate feels a lack the legitimacy over such a close vote, I will consider that the primary purpose of these criterions has been fulfilled.
