Dragons and fire......

I've been thinking about the many theries of dragons breathing fire and there are many chemicals that will combust into fire when heated. Maybe in the dragons salivia there is a flamabal chemacal and the dragons breath is hot enough to light the chemical and BAM you (the dragon) has fire breathing abilaties. But just a thought to think about.
P.S. i thought of this while dreaming...

A. THis theory has been passed over soooo many times, its not funny. B. How could the carbon dioxide 1, have enough oxegyn to light a fire, 2, be hot enough to catch the chemicals on fire? C...Not all dragons breathe fire.

Yes this theory is getting old however there may be some truth to some of the ideas:
Try this explanation
Be warned it is incredablly (sp?) sciencey however i am only 13 and i understood most of it

Silv is right, and I know some 10 year olds who could explain nuclear fission/fusion in excruciating detail. So age is no excuse.

The point of this forum is to provide answers to questions or alternatively discuss a new perspective on something related to dragons.
So if this discussion already occurred before, provide the link(s) to those discussion(s) and let the author of this thread decides if s/he want to have more details on the subject or if s/he consider that the previous discussion(s) contain(s) the answers s/he was seeking.
Also note that as time goes on, every possible subject will eventually be discussed at some point or another but since the forum population change over time, there is the realistic possibility that someone could add something valuable to these discussions even if these already occurred before.

@Shade: Those threads deal with dragon fire if you want to take a look at them them.

About your theory, while many chemicals can become inflammable when heated, the temperature in the mouth is roughly the same as the body. So it would be dangerous for a living organism to use this system since if a chemical can combust when heated by a few degrees, it also means that it is in a unstable state to begin with. Moreover, some people in summer (especially those doing varied physical labor) can be affected by heat stroke and their body temperature can become quite high, sometimes as high as 41 degrees Celsius (105 degrees Fahrenheit), meaning that for the dragon those chemicals could spontaneously combust.
